The implementation of two projects of the European Union for the development of sustainable tourism in Tajikistan has begun


In order to open the first stage of the implementation of two joint grant projects of the European Union for the sustainable development of the tourism sector, a video conference was held with the participation of representatives of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. NIAT "Khovar" was informed about this in the Committee for Tourism Development.

In the videoconference, the Republic of Tajikistan was remotely represented by the responsible persons of the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the heads of the Community Association of Tajikistan and the Association of Microfinance Organizations of Tajikistan.

Francesco Stranier, Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Tajikistan, noted: “Currently, through the Office of the Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development in the region, projects are being implemented“ Tourism Initiatives based on the Silk Road Society: Connecting Tourism in a Society Based on the Central Asian and European Market ” ”And“ Promoting Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Production in the Tourism Sector of Central Asia ”.

The representative of the Committee for Tourism Development during his speech noted that the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the implementation of such projects aimed at the development of tourism is timely during the announcement of the "Years of Rural Development, Tourism and Folk Crafts" and once again testifies to the special attention of the President of the Republic Tajikistan respected Emomali Rahmon to the field of tourism development of the country.

In the context of the spread of coronavirus, it is very important to attract foreign investment in the country's tourism industry, especially in the direction of the development of renewable environmentally friendly electricity infrastructure, in the Zeravshan Valley, cities and regions of republican subordination, the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region and other remote mountain regions, their implementation contributes to the improvement of conditions tourist facilities.
