The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in Sughd Province in order to get familiar with the socio-economic development of the region.
President Emomali Rahmon started his trip to Konchoch area of Ayni district by visiting the exhibition of achievements of the national economy. The agricultural products and handmade folk craft were displayed at the exhibition.
The TALCO’s investment projects, in particular, the construction of a caustic soda and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plants with the capacity of 100,000 tonnes/year in the Yovon district, the construction of an aluminum plant with a capacity of 100,000 tonnes/year in the city of Tursunzoda and Ayni’s Enrichment Enterprises Inc on the basis of the Kaznok Valley were presented to the Head of State. In addition, the presentation of the achievements of SUE “TALCO Chemical” of Yovon district, which is engaged in the production of cryolite, aluminum fluoride, coagulant and sulfuric acid, took place there.
Then, the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon observed the future activity of JSC “TALCO Gold” via video spot.
This large industrial enterprise will be constructed and commissioned on the basis of the minerals of the Konchoch mine, consisting of three sections – Chulboi, Konchoch and Shakhkon.
At this mine, the reserves of five chemical elements have been estimated, including gold and antimony as basic, as well as silver, mercury and fluorite as additional mineral deposits and are placed on the balance of state reserves.
All the mentioned chemical elements shall be extracted and processed in our country, and gold, silver and antimony shall be produced as the final products, that is, in the form of metal.
According to the world media two or three years ago Tajikistan was the world’s fourth largest producer of antimony after China, Russia and Bolivia.
In recent years, the volume of extraction and processing of antimony has increased even more.
According to the general reserves of antimony, Tajikistan is one of the top countries among the countries of Asia and the world.
Upon the operation of this enterprise, Tajikistan can reach the third place in the world after the People’s Republic of China and the Russian Federation for the extraction and production of antimony and make another steady step towards the industrialization of the country.
The total reserves of industrial and non-industrial antimony are 265 thousand tons and gold are 50 tons.
These indicators can be significantly higher as a result of prospecting geological work.
Therefore, the management of the enterprise, especially the Chinese side, responsible for the design and import of technology, needs that technological lines be adapted not only for the basic elements, that is, gold and antimony, but also for silver, mercury and fluorite.
Following the familiarization with the JSC “TALCO Gold” project, the President of country Emomali Rahmon laid the foundation stone for the construction of this large industrial enterprise. It was reported that the construction work in this area is planned for one year and six months. Based on the developed project, production of 1.5 tons of gold and 16 tons of antimony is planned at the beginning of 2020 by this enterprise. Between 1,000 and 1,500 Tajik citizens will be periodically provided with permanent jobs with a good salary by this large enterprise.
While on a working trip to Sughd Province the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited Shahriston district and attended the opening ceremony of the new building of the Department of surgery and resuscitation at the Central hospital of Shahriston district.
The head of state got acquainted with the conditions, diagnostics and treatment options of the additional building and talked with the medical staff here.
Later, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited the exhibition of agricultural products, where he became familiar with the activities of farmers of the trading cooperative “Shahriston” and erecting an intensive garden.
During his tour to Shahriston district the head of state Emomali Rahmon inspected boarding school dorms named after Dodojon Boymatov.
In the course of his tour, President Emomali Rahmon took part in the opening ceremony of the Shahriston Administrative Justice Office (AJO) too.
Pulling back the curtain from the symbolizing plate, the head of state has officially launched the activity of Shahriston Palace of Culture.
