On February 28, 2023, in the hall Center for Automated Transport Control System "Safe City" of the Directorate State Traffic Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a regular meeting of the Government Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan on ensuring road safety was held.
It was attended by the chairman of the commission - the Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel-General of Militia Rakhimzoda Ramazon Khamro, the deputy chairman of the commission - the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan Azim Ibrokhim, responsible persons of other law enforcement agencies, government departments and committees that are part of the commission.
The meeting was opened with an opening speech by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel-General of Militia Ramazon Rakhimzoda, who noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in cooperation with other enterprises and departments, executive bodies of state power and other organizations, institutions and subjects of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Road Traffic" over the past year, significant work has been carried out to comply with the requirements of this law.
The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has implemented the state policy to ensure road safety at the required level, regularly monitors the coordination of activities of central and local government bodies, ministries and departments and organizations and institutions in this area.
During the meeting, Minister of Transport Azim Ibrokhim spoke, who noted that the Ministry of Transport, with the full support of the Government of the country, is constantly working to ensure the safety of vehicles on roads, and in cooperation with other ministries and government agencies, directs its efforts to further improve the condition of roads and ensuring the safety of road users.
During the meeting, issues related to the state of the country's roads, the reduction of traffic accidents, the placement of signs on highways, the construction, reconstruction and repair of roads, the construction of transport tunnels were considered, as well as the factors of accidents on the roads and the elimination of existing problems in this direction. In addition, a number of specific proposals have been made.
