Meeting of the Coordinating Council of the Heads of the Competent Authorities of the CSTO Member States to Combat Illegal Migration

On December 6, 2022, a meeting of the Coordinating Council of the Heads of the Competent Bodies of the Member States of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) to Combat Illegal Migration was held in Yerevan of the Republic of Armenia.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Major General of Militia Nasimzoda Akbar Giyos, Head of the Passport and Registration Service of the MIA of the Republic of Tajikistan, Major General of Militia Khalilzoda Hussein Sobir and other officials.
The meeting of the Coordinating Council was chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Police Colonel General Alexander Gorovoy.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Major General of Militia Nasimzoda Akbar Giyos, made a speech and noted: “The regulation of migration processes requires solving often complex problems, and we must develop cooperation in many areas. The main areas of joint activity are the creation of a legal framework, the identification and elimination of routes and organizers of illegal migration, the development of a unified approach to monitoring the stay of foreign citizens and stateless persons, work with refugees, the exchange of information and the execution of requests.”

During the meeting, the migration situation in the CSTO member countries, measures to combat illegal migration, changes in the migration legislation of the CSTO member countries and the results of the Illegal 2022 event were considered.

At the end of the meeting of the Coordinating Council of the heads of the competent authorities of the CSTO member countries, an appropriate protocol was signed to combat illegal migration.
