Opening ceremony of international swimming competition

In the swimming pool of the Palace of Tennis and Water Sports of the city of Dushanbe, an international swimming competition dedicated to the "30th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan" is held for two days.

Athletes-swimmers from 6 teams of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Afghanistan and the regions of Tajikistan participated in these traditional competitions, which are annually held by the National Swimming Federation of the Republic of Tajikistan together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other relevant structures.
On June 28, 2021, the official opening ceremony of these international competitions was held, in which the Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel General of Militia Rakhimzoda Ramazon Khamro, who is also the chairman of the National Swimming Federation of the Republic of Tajikistan, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Tajikistan Abdullozoda Muhammadsho Mirzokhon, took part and spoke Head of the Sports Department of the «Dynamo» Society of the All-Russian «Dynamo» Movement of the Russian Federation, Police Colonel Andrey Valentinovich Danilov and other officials.
During his speech, Minister of Internal Affairs Ramazon Rahimzoda noted that sport is a messenger of peace, promoting a healthy lifestyle, stability and tranquility, strengthening friendly and comradely ties between peoples and nations. With the support and guidance of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, special attention is paid to sports, improving the qualifications of the country's athletes and sharing experience with friendly and neighboring countries.
In recent years, the infrastructure of the sports sector has developed in our republic, hundreds of small and large sports facilities have been built and commissioned throughout the country. The Palace of Tennis and Water Sports, which is one of the modern facilities, also bears witness to this. Experienced mentors and specialists in this field are involved in the training of athletes.
It is hoped that in the future such sporting events will be held at a higher level with the aim of friendship and integration between peoples, and more athletes will be involved in them.
It should be noted that the athletes competed in freestyle swimming, butterfly, breaststroke, backstroke at distances of 50 meters, 100 meters, complex swimming at a distance of 200 meters and a team relay race at a distance of 4x50 meters between men and women. International-class judges under the guidance of the chief arbiter, the international category judge of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) Sherzod Inogamov from the Republic of Uzbekistan monitored and evaluated the sportsmanship of the swimmers.
In continuation of the event, the athletes who won first places were awarded medals and certificates, as well as memorable gifts.

Thus, in freestyle at a distance of 50 meters among men, the first and second places were taken by representatives of the Russian Federation Dmitry Cherkasov and Roman Kuznetsov, the third place was taken by Khojiakbar Abdujalilov from Uzbekistan.

In freestyle at a distance of 50 meters among women, the first place was taken by Irina Zlobina - an athlete of the Russian Federation, Natalya Kritinina and Muslim Dzhumabayeva from the Republic of Uzbekistan won second and third places.
In breaststroke style at a distance of 50 meters, the first place was taken by Kristina Lebedeva from the team of the Russian Federation, representatives of the Republic of Tajikistan Karina Klimyk and Sabrina Yakubova - respectively, the second and third places.
In swimming on the back 200 meters, the first place was awarded to the Russian athlete Dmitry Cherkasov, the second and third places were taken by Umedjon Islomzoda and Ramziyor Khorkashov, athletes from the Republic of Tajikistan.

In relay swimming 4X100 meters freestyle, the team of the Republic of Uzbekistan took the first place, the team of the Russian Federation took the second place and the third place - the Republic of Tajikistan.

Currently, international competitions are ongoing, the results of which will be additionally announced.
