Innovation and partnership to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals

December 8, 2017, in Dushanbe, in the framework of the annual meeting to review the activities of the UNFPA Representative Office in the Republic of Tajikistan, was held a meeting on the theme "Innovation and partnership to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. 

The meeting was attended by representatives of ministries, relevant institutions, international organizations, as well as the head of the Department for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, militia colonel Abdullozoda Zumrad, and the head of the Militia Department on environmental issues of the MIA, militia colonel Alizoda Anarjon Juma.
Opening speech was opened by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan Iliosiddin Kamoliddinzoda, noted that the innovation activity of all social and economic sectors of the country is aimed at developing and strengthening the export of goods and imports of goods.

One of the ways of innovative development of the country is the creation of free economic zones of the republic; this is the creation of four free economic zones - "Sughd", "Dangara", "Panj" and "Ishkashim".

During the event, participants discussed the role of the population, joint initiatives to support regulatory programs, family planning and raising the legal awareness of the population, the needs of rural women, the prevention of infectious diseases and other important issues.

Thus, the head of the Department for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Colonel of militia Abdullozoda Zumrad, "Law enforcement agencies - as part of a multi-sectoral response to gender violence" and Director of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Gulnora Hazanzoda "Census 2020 - assessing the progress of the SDG. "
Then other participants of the meeting took part in the exchange of views on issues of mutual interest.
