Meeting with Ambassador Tuula Yrjölä, Head of the OSCE Office in Tajikistan

November 23, 2017, Interior Minister, Colonel General Militia Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro met with Ambassador/ Head of the OSCE Office in Tajikistan Tuula Yrjölä, to expand bilateral cooperation in the field of police reform. 

Head of the OSCE Military and Political Department in Tajikistan Feyzo Numanay, adviser on counter-terrorism and police reforms Kaportsev Dmitry Gennadievich, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Major-General Militia Umarzoda Ikrom Islom, National Coordinator for Police Reform of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Major-General Militia Shodmonzoda Farkhodbek, Head of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Colonel of militia Abdullozoda Zumrad, Deputy Chief of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Colonel of militia Soliev Karim, the national liaison officer for the police reform Mahmadiev Haydar and others took part in the meeting. 

At first, the Interior Minister Ramazon Rahimzoda expressed his gratitude to Mrs. Tuula Yrjölä for methodological, advisory and practical assistance, as well as assistance in strengthening the infrastructure of the internal affairs bodies.

It was noted that three important documents were developed and adopted within the framework of the police reform: the Strategy for the Police Reform for 2013-2020, the Militia Development Program and the Action Plan for the implementation of the Program for 2013-2020.

It should be noted that the first document on police reform - the "Memorandum of Understanding" was signed by the Government of Tajikistan and the OSCE Office in Tajikistan on April 8, 2011.
