On September 26, 2017, in the city of Beijing, the People's Republic of China, a multilateral meeting of the Interior Ministers of the States members of the International Criminal Police Organization “Interpol” was held with the participation of the Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee of the Politburo of the Communist Party of the People's Republic of China, Meng Jianzhu, and the Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun.
This meeting was also attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Colonel-General of the Militia Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro.
During the multilateral meeting, issues of organizing and coordinating the activities of the competent law enforcement agencies of Interpol member states in the fight against terrorism, extremism, separatism and other threats and challenges of the modern world were discussed.
It was noted that, given the political situation in the world and the region, the threat of organized crime in the modern world, the role of the international organization Interpol is becoming even more significant.
Law enforcement officers of the participating countries should coordinate and jointly combat dangerous crimes, such as terrorism, extremism, human trafficking, drug trafficking, weapons and other negative phenomena of the current society.
It should be noted that Interpol is an international law enforcement organization that was established in 1923 in Vienna by the decision of the International Congress of Police.
Its activities are carried out within the framework of national and international regulations and are aimed at resolving the issues of organizing and coordinating the activities of the competent authorities of the states participating in Interpol in the international search for criminals hiding from investigation or trial, escaped convicts from places of execution of sentences and persons missing without a trace, also the identification of unknown persons' bodies on the territory of 190 member states of this organization.
The organization also works to find stolen vehicles, lost and stolen documents, cultural valuesof historical and international significance.
