During operational and investigative measures, officers of the Department of Internal Affairs of Fayzabad District detained citizen Rajabov Ziyobeg Emomalievich, born in 1976, a resident of Mehrobod village, Fayzabad District, on suspicion of committing murder. He had previously been convicted under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
At approximately 12:05 a.m. on August 18, 2026, allegedly motivated by jealousy and suspicion, the individual became involved in a conflict with his wife, Umarova Khavasgul Iskandarovna, born in 1977, and assaulted her in the bathroom of their home. He then allegedly strangled her with an aluminum wire and obstructed her breathing by covering her mouth and nose with his hands, resulting in her death.
A criminal case has been initiated against Rajabov Ziyobeg under Part 1 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan. The investigation is ongoing.
