Event with the Participation of Ministers of Internal Affairs and Public Security in the “Central Asia – China” Format

On May 18, 2026, in the city of Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan, the second meeting of Ministers of Internal Affairs and Public Security in the “Central Asia – China” format took place, with the participation of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Police Colonel General Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro, as well as the Ministers of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan, and the Minister of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan opened the event with a welcoming speech and emphasized the importance of developing joint measures to counter transnational organized crime.
During his speech, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro, expressed gratitude for the high-level organization of the event and noted that issues related to combating transnational crime have become particularly significant for the region. “Threats associated with terrorism, extremism, and separatism require us to continuously strengthen security measures and expand international cooperation,” stated Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro.
The discussion then focused on combating the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, their cross-border transportation, countering the online distribution of drugs through internet platforms and messaging services, as well as improving technological mechanisms for international cooperation and fighting cybercrime.
Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro also spoke about expanding cooperation in the field of professional training and skills development for internal affairs and public security personnel, noting that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan pays special attention to training industry-specific and highly qualified specialists.
In this regard, the participants considered it necessary to further expand joint programs aimed at broader organization of training courses, internships, and professional development for law enforcement personnel.
In conclusion, confidence was expressed that the agreements reached during the meeting would contribute to strengthening joint cooperation in ensuring security and stability.
