During the conduct of operational-search activities, it was determined by  militia officers that a 33-year-old resident of Vakhsh district, against whom a criminal case is being investigated under Part 2 of Article 247 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, on January 8, 2026, purchased a mobile phone of a 30-year-old resident of Vakhsh district, the brand “iPhone-13”, at a cost of 1,900 somoni, and paid for it with 2 US $ 100 bills, which, according to the document of the regional branch of the “National Bank of Tajikistan” in the city of Bokhtar, were not original but counterfeit, thereby causing serious material damage to the latter.
A criminal case has been initiated against the suspect under Part 1 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the investigation is ongoing.
