The I. Somoni District DMIA in Dushanbe received a complaint from a 36-year-old Dushanbe resident. In September 2025, a 39-year-old resident of the capital, previously convicted under Article 247 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, stole his 2020 Lexus JS-350 for $40,000, promising to return the money within two months. However, the man failed to fulfill his promise and used the money for his own benefit. During the investigative operations, militia officers also established that a 47-year-old resident of the Panj district, previously convicted under Part 4 of Article 247 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, on October 17, 2025, gained the trust of a 43-year-old resident of the Kushoniyon district, posing as "Davlat Karimov," an employee of the Dushanbe company "Agroleasing," and received 175,000 somoni from him, promising to deliver one MTZ-82 tractor and one MTZ-80 tractor from the Republic of Kazakhstan. However, he failed to fulfill his promise and spent the money on personal use. Thus, the suspect gained the trust of a 39-year-old resident of the Vakhsh district, posing as "Azizov Fayzali," an employee of the Dushanbe Agroleasing Company, and promised to deliver an MTZ-80 tractor from the Republic of Kazakhstan for 172,000 somoni. He took copies of his documents and, in two payments, received 86,000 somoni, promising to deliver the tractor in early January 2026. However, he has yet to fulfill his promise and spent the money for personal gain. Similarly, taking advantage of the trust of a 57-year-old resident of the Kushoniyon district, he posed as "Azizov Fayzali," an employee of the Dushanbe Agroleasing Company, promising to deliver an MTZ-82 tractor from the Republic of Kazakhstan for 190,000 somoni. He returned 90,000 somoni, but never returned the remaining amount. A criminal case has been opened against the suspect under Part 4 of Article 247 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the investigation is ongoing.
