Several cases of property theft have been identified
A 48-year-old resident filed a report with the Vakhsh District Department of Ministry Internal Affairs (OMVD) stating that on the night of December 19, 2025, unknown persons stole one head of cattle from the pasture lands of the Zarnisor rural jamoat in the Vakhsh District and fled the spot.
The damage amounted to 10,000 somoni.
As a result of investigative operations, militia officers established that the crime was committed by local residents, aged 23 and 20.
The detainees also stole one head of cattle from the barn of a 23-year-old resident of the Vakhsh District on the night of January 13, 2026.
The damage amounted to 13,000 somoni.
Thus, during the investigative operations, militia officers detained a 45-year-old resident of the Rasht District on suspicion of committing the theft. The suspect stole 17 head of small cattle from the barn of a fellow villager, a 78-year-old local resident, and fled the spot.
The damage amounted to 50,000 somoni.
Meanwhile, during an operational search, militia detained a 21-year-old young woman from Dushanbe on suspicion of theft.
On January 11, 2026, at approximately 12:30 p.m., the suspect stole two mobile phones, an “iPhone 17 Pro Max and an iPhone 13 Pro Max”, from the vehicle of a 28-year-old Nurek resident, which was parked on Shevchenko Street, and fled the spot.
The damage amounted to 20,000 somoni.
An investigation is underway into these facts.
