As a result of investigative operations, militia arrested a 61-year-old resident of the Asht district on suspicion of theft and embezzlement.
Between September and December 2021, the suspect purchased 70,000 somoni worth of raw cotton from the “Markhamat” CJSC farm, owned by a 58-year-old local resident, for storage and processing. He then sold the raw cotton, and used the proceeds for his own needs.
A criminal case has been opened against the suspect under Part 3 of Article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the investigation is ongoing.
