During an operational search, militia officers in the B. Gafurov district detained 19- and 21-year-old Khujand residents while selling 28 boxes of "Treniya X 201" fireworks to a buyer.
A forensic examination concluded that the 12,600 fireworks were in good condition.
A criminal case has been opened against the suspects under Article 199, Appendix 1, of the Criminal Code of Tajikistan, and an investigation is underway.
During the operational search, militia also detained a 31-year-old resident of the Farkhor district on suspicion of illegally selling fireworks.
During a personal search of the detainee, several pyrotechnic materials were found and seized. According to a forensic examination, the seized materials were classified as explosives (firecrackers), totaling 20,640 pieces.
A criminal case has been opened against the suspect under Part 2, Appendix 1, Article 199 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, and an investigation is ongoing.
