During investigative operations, militia discovered that in August 2022, a 46-year-old local resident of Istaravshan gained the trust of a 47-year-old woman, resident of Khujand, posing as a well-known entrepreneur in the gold mining industry. She received a total of $40,000 in two installments, of which she returned $16,500 and kept $23,500 of the remaining payments for herself.
A criminal case has been opened against the suspect under Part 4 of Article 247 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the investigation is ongoing.
