During the operational search activities the militia officers detained a 38-year-old resident of Khujand on suspicion of extortion. 
On January 1, 2025, at about 22:00, the suspect arrived at the apartment of a 29-year-old woman, resident of Khujand and argued that her 14-year-old daughter had allegedly used a powerful substance (lyrics), and demanded 10,000 somoni from the victim for non-dissemination of defamatory information about her child. 
On January 2, 2025, the suspect appeared at the victim's apartment and was detained while receiving a sum of money in the amount of 700 US dollars. 
An investigation is underway into this fact.
