Constructive meeting with the Khovaling district activists
On September 27, 2024, a meeting was held in the hall of the Executive Body of State Authority of the Khovaling district with the participation of civil society activists, chairmen of jamoats, mahallas and public councils under the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Khovaling district on the topic "The contribution of public councils to the implementation of police reform".
The meeting was attended and addressed by the National Coordinator for Police Reform of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Major General of Police Azizulozoda Safialo Azizulo, Acting Chairman of the Khovaling district Nabizoda Farrukh and other responsible persons.
A speech was made by the Acting Chairman of the Khovaling district Nabizoda Farrukh, who congratulated all those present on the expansion of cooperation between the militia and the public. He confidently stated that fruitful cooperation between the internal affairs agencies and civil society institutions will contribute to the prevention of crimes.
Then the national coordinator for police reform, Militia Major General Azizulozola Safialo Azizulo, made a report, in which he presented the new Regulation on public councils under the internal affairs bodies. In particular, he noted that in order to enhance the position of public councils and strengthen the interaction between the police and civil society, the Regulation on public councils was approved by the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on February 13, 2024. In order to implement this Regulation, by order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, all heads of departments are obliged to take measures to ensure the implementation of this Regulation and properly interact with public councils. It was also stated that public councils are the main link in the police reform process, so police officers need to strengthen their activities with public councils.
During the meeting, opinions were expressed on preventing young people from joining terrorist and extremist parties and movements. Everyone was invited to take an active part in preventing these undesirable manifestations. During the meeting, a number of important issues were discussed, and a number of useful proposals were made for further improvement of relations and cooperation between the militia and society.
