On July 30, wrestling instructor of the Republican Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan “Dynamo”, militia lieutenant Somon Makhmadbekov, won a bronze medal in the 81 kg weight category at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
In the second round, the Tajik athlete defeated Fares Badawi from Palestine and Frank De Wit from the Netherlands. In the quarterfinals, the famous Tajik athlete fought Tato Grigalashvili from Georgia, where he was defeated and advanced to the next stage. In the competition with the Uzbek wrestler Sharofiddin Boltaboev, he won and in the fight for the bronze medal he managed to defeat the Italian wrestler Antonio Esposito and won a worthy third place and a bronze medal.
Let us recall that on July 20 of this year, before his trip to Paris, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Militia Colonel General Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro held a meeting with a number of successful athletes, members of the Republican Council “Dynamo” of the MIA of the Republic of Tajikistan, who will take part in the 33rd Olympic Games in Paris.
Militia lieutenant Somon Makhmadbekov was also present at the meeting.
